Questions I wish I could answer
First question is, I have 2 broadhead arrows 1 is 26" long 1 is 28" long same fletch and weight and traveling at same speed, which will travel further and how much further?Second question, where is...

very good questions. my first thought is that the shortest broadhead arrow will travel further because of less surface and drag. But my experience is in flightarrows mostly. And I am convinced that...

Very interesting for me and in General.I´m still not clear about flight arrows, still try and error. But step by step things are becoming clearer. My favourite shafts are tapered and made of very fine...

larch ? Interesting. I have never heard of anyone using that, but it should be comparable with spruce and fir I guess ? Maybe I should try it too.

Yes larch, I came across it when I was invited to a research of excavated bows in Siberia. The ancient Siberian tribes even called very clear grown larch" arrow- wood". Check for larch with super-...

Steve, I'll throw in my thoughts to your question. If it is assumed that both the 26" arrow and 28" arrow leave the bow perfectly clean and straight with no paradox then the arrows should land within...

One thing I noticed last year when I was there that the spine on my arrows was fine as they left very clean, cleaner than ever before. Even in practice as I got there early I was not getting good...

Some of the turkey feathers are pretty thick. Even at 1/4" high, it could add significant cross section that must be pushed through the air. The leading trimmed edge of these feathers have a...

Just my 2 cents... Perhaps a longer arrow will fly further than a shorter arrow for the same reason that a long arrow penetrates better than a short arrow. A short arrow is inherently less stable than...

Tim, that is almost exactly the conclusion I have come to, I find my heavy 300 grain arrows will outshoot my 160 grain arrows, about 260 with turkey feathers seems pretty close to optimum.

Steve, I was just outside and thought a bit about the arrows. And I thought about your mass principle and put that principle in with arrows. I considered a paper airplane and thought no matter how you...

If your bow scales at 50# for 28" the back of the broadhed has to contact the back of the bow before it hits 50# s the arrow will be 28" or whatever length makes 50# the weight is constant at 500...

Then you have to shoot a 26" arrow if you want to stay in the 50# class
View ArticleRe: Questions I wish I could answer
Hmmm so a short stiff tipped bow at 50# shooting a 26" arrow. I wonder how that would go?
